Ray Wylie Hubbard is truly one of a kind. This man is an outlaw with a story to tell, and all I know is I want as much of it as I possibly can. Ray is one of the first Texas songwriters that started driving me towards my journey of discovery for so many amazing Texas songwriters.
On Thursday, July 25th, Ray Wylie Hubbard came in to Fuller's Guitar in the Houston Heights to perform a few songs for the Unplugged Sessions. In these sessions, Ray talks about his debut at the Grand Ole Opry just one week before our session. He greeted the Opry crowd with "That was a lovely introduction, I can't wait to hear me", and proceeded to bust out Snake Farm. Yup, had to be done. During his session with me, he performed "Rabbit" & "Tell The Devil I'm Gettin' There As Fast As I Can". No mics, no amps, just Ray Wylie Hubbard & his Gibson guitar.
